2008 Fall
FACM Conference - Cocoa Beach Hilton
FACM Fall Conference a
Success!
The fall conference seemed to be a great success judging
by comments of some of those who attended. A total of
49 persons registered for the 2008 conference which was held
at the Cocoa Beach Hilton. An intensive two day class
on parcel mapping using ArcGIS 9.3, given by Frank Conkling
of Panda Consulting, was well attended and provided useful
tips and techniques in using the software to its best
advantage. Concurrently, a very well presented and
informative session was given by the trio of Ellen Edwards,
Carol Walker and Matt Kalus on FACM Course 2 (Public Land
Survey System) in preparation for the Course to be given
the week of December 8th.
Under a moonlight night
overlooking the ocean, the awards banquet was held.
This years award winners include Robert Miller (Volusia
County) winning the Cadastralist of the year award, Rosemary
Baumann received the Outstanding achievement award and the
presidents awards went to John Benton and Joyce Ingersoll.
Outgoing President John Bausola handed the gavel over to the
2008-2009 new President Michael Wentworth.
